The Labour Department today announced that from February 1, Rambler Garden Hotel in Tsing Yi will provide an additional 150 rooms for the quarantine of foreign domestic helpers coming to work in Hong Kong, bringing the total number of rooms serving as a designated quarantine facility in the hotel to 650.

Room reservations can be made through the hotel's online booking system from 10am on January 11. The room fee will be increased to $700 per night starting February 1 which ncludes three meals and all charges.

The helper's passport copy, valid employment visa and a recognised vaccination record must be provided at the time of booking.

Helpers will also need to provide such documents when they check into the facility.

The Government said it understands the need of local families for foreign domestic helpers. However, as the local epidemic situation has worsened rapidly, it must vigilantly uphold the policy of guarding against the importation of COVID-19 cases.

It added that it will consider whether more designated quarantine facilities can be provided having regard to the global and local epidemic situation.
