The Labour Department announced today that starting from December 8, the Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin will be added as a designated quarantine facility, providing 500 rooms for the quarantine of foreign domestic helpers coming to work in Hong Kong.

Room reservations can be made through the Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin's online booking system from 9.30 am on November 15 at a fee of $650 per night per room which includes three meals and all charges.

The helper's passport copy, valid employment visa and recognised vaccination record must be provided to the hotel at the time of booking for verifying the helper's identity.

Helpers will also need to provide such documents when they check into the facility.

The hotel is a new designated quarantine facility in addition to the Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre on Lantau Island and the Rambler Garden Hotel in Tsing Yi. Silka Tsuen Wan will serve other quarantine purposes from December 1.

The Government said it will consider whether more designated quarantine facilities can be provided with regard to the global and local epidemic situation.
