CE joins Sport For All Day 2021

Chief Executive Carrie Lam today shared the fun of exercising with the public at Che Kung Temple Sports Centre on Sport For All Day 2021.

 

She also showed support for Hong Kong athletes to strive for excellence in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

 

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department organised the event to encourage the public to foster the habit of exercising for at least half an hour a day.

 

Apart from free recreation and sports programmes at designated sports centres in 18 districts, the event also offered play-in activities of Olympic sports such as fencing, badminton, table tennis and cycling in support of the Tokyo Olympics.    

 

Mrs Lam, accompanied by Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui and Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Vincent Liu, watched dance demonstrations before taking part in boccia together with athletes with disabilities.

 

She then officiated at the start of a cycling competition. She also joined dodgebee games and a resistance band exercise, and watched the participation sessions of pickleball, floor curling, korfball and indoor rowing.

 

Chief Secretary John Lee, Secretary for the Environment KS Wong, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan, Secretary for Development Michael Wong, Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit, Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang and Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung also joined the activities in other districts.
