The Government today announced that Permanent Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury (Treasury) Alice Lau will become Permanent Secretary for Labour & Welfare on July 26.

Ms Lau will succeed Chang King-yiu who will commence her pre-retirement leave.

Postmaster General Cathy Chu will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury (Treasury) on July 29.

Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip said Ms Lau and Ms Chu are seasoned administrative officers with proven leadership and management skills, adding that he has every confidence that they will serve the community with professionalism in their new capacities.

Mr Nip also said Ms Chang has rendered 37 years of loyal and dedicated service to the community of Hong Kong, and he wished her a fulfilling and happy retirement.
