Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui today visited Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool to learn about its operation on the first day following the relaxation of the number of users in public swimming pools.

Mr Tsui inspected the special measures adopted at the swimming pool by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and was briefed by venue staff on the latest situation and workflow.

In view of the latest COVID-19 situation, the department relaxed the limit on the number of users in 39 reopened public swimming pools from today, with the maximum number of people allowed in swimming pools relaxed from 30% to 50% of capacity.

Mr Tsui said the aim of the relaxation is to serve more people while attaching the importance of safeguarding the health of the public and staff and minimising the risk of spreading the virus.

He appealed to the public who are suitable for vaccinations to get vaccinated early and fight the virus together.
