The Government today announced it will have three channels to facilitate people aged 12 to 15 to receive the BioNTech vaccine.
Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip outlined the vaccination arrangement at a media session this afternoon.
He said from 9am on June 11, people aged 12 to 15 can make reservations through the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme's designated website to receive the BioNTech jab at 24 community vaccination centres (CVCs) across the city from June 14.
They are reminded to bring a consent form signed by their parents for getting vaccinated. The form can be downloaded from the programme’s website.
The Government will also provide special appointments at CVCs and transport to and from schools, as well as outreach vaccination at schools to assist students and even teachers and parents to get vaccinated. The services are expected to start on June 21 and 28.
Mr Nip said: "If schools could make such arrangements, of course if it is during the school term then that would be much better. But if during holidays they are able to gather sufficient number of students, teachers and parents, then we can arrange the outreach vaccination service.
"The overall objective is to facilitate vaccination. But of course schools need to do some preparation, co-ordination and communication. So we believe that the three different types of channels could provide a very flexible arrangement for schools."
