The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 24 additional COVID-19 cases, all of which are locally transmitted.

Ten are untraceable, and among the 14 linked cases, 10 are related to URSUS Fitness in Sai Ying Pun.

At a press briefing this afternoon, the centre’s Principal Medical & Health Officer Dr Albert Au said there was a small outbreak at the Harbour School in Ap Lei Chau. Two IT teachers have tested positive for COVID-19, while an art teacher has preliminarily tested positive.

“For this outbreak, the first case is a customer of URSUS Fitness. He had attended the fitness centre and was subsequently confirmed to be a case.

“The other two cases are colleagues of the index case in this school.

“The second case is also an IT teacher who shared the same classroom with the index case and they had very close contact.

“The third case is an art teacher who had contact with the second case inside the IT room for about 10 minutes, so we believe that the transmission is person-to-person, and it occurred inside the IT room.”

The centre has arranged for 35 students and six teaching assistants who used the IT room to be sent to quarantine centres.

Meanwhile, 30 places with one or more confirmed cases or where sewage samples have tested positive are now covered by compulsory testing notices.

The Government will set up mobile specimen collection stations at nine locations on March 15.
