Govt building QR codes set
The Government today announced that from March 1, its employees and members of the public will be required to use the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app and scan the QR code before entering government buildings or offices.
People can also choose to register their names, contact numbers and the date and time of their visits before entering the relevant premises for necessary contact tracing if a confirmed case is found.
The Government said it decided to implement such an arrangement at all government buildings and offices with a view to better assisting the Centre for Health Protection in epidemiological investigations and protecting the safety of employees and the public.
Government departments will first remind employees and the public to use the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app at the entrances of government buildings or offices from February 22 to allow them to familiarise themselves with the app.
As the waiting time for public services or entering relevant premises may be lengthened, the Government appealed for public understanding and their co-operation with the instructions given by the staff on site.
It also called on people to download the mobile app as soon as possible and use it regularly to record their whereabouts.
