Testing for construction workers set
The Food & Health Bureau announced that the Government will provide one-off free COVID-19 voluntary testing services to all construction site workers in Hong Kong from January 15 to 31 through online booking.
Booking for the service can be made starting from today.
The bureau said there were a number of confirmed cases involving construction site workers recently.
To reduce the transmission risk of COVID-19 in the community, in addition to the compulsory testing notices issued for individual construction sites, the Government will offer free virus testing services to all construction site workers in Hong Kong through community testing centres.
Construction site workers should make advance booking for the free testing service through the community testing centre booking system. Those who do not make an appointment will need to pay $240 for the service.
When arriving at the community testing centre, construction site workers should present the identity document used at the time of booking, their construction worker registration card issued by the Construction Industry Council and the SMS booking confirmation for verification.
The voluntary testing service at construction sites arranged by the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Construction Association will also continue.
