Quarantine hotel rates unchanged

December 28, 2020

The Food & Health Bureau today said the designated quarantine hotels have not raised the room rates announced at the time of joining the Designated Quarantine Hotel Scheme.

In its response to media enquiries, the bureau noted the Government is very concerned about information of a sudden increase in the room rates of some of these hotels.

The Government confirmed with all 36 designated quarantine hotels that they had not raised the hotel room rates announced at the time of joining the scheme when handling the requests by returnees to Hong Kong to extend their stays to 21 days due to the extension of the quarantine period.

The bureau pointed out that under the terms of the contracts signed between the Government and the designated quarantine hotels, the room rates must remain unchanged during the contract period.

The rates are listed on the Government's thematic website.

The Government will closely monitor the implementation of the scheme.
