More mobile testing stations open
The Government has arranged for testing agencies to set up mobile specimen collection stations in Tai Wo Hau and Shau Kei Wan to provide COVID-19 testing services from today.
The mobile stations were set up after a number of COVID-19 cases were reported at Tak Tai Building in Tai Wo Hau and Block A of Ming Wah Dai Ha in Shau Kei Wan. The stations provide a free testing service for residents and workers of the building blocks concerned.
They will run tentatively until December 27 and operate from 10am to 8pm each day.
As there are several COVID-19 cases in Lei Sang House at Lei Yue Mun Estate, the Community Testing Centre in Yau Tong Community Hall extends the free testing service to Lei Yue Mun Estate residents and workers up to December 27, from 8am to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 8pm.
The testing centre provides booking as well as on-site registration services. Members of the public only need to input simple personal information and select the time slot in the 24-hour appointment booking system.
The testing agencies will provide specimen collection services by combined nasal and throat swabs at the stations for free testing.
People who are subject to compulsory testing and undergo testing at the mobile specimen collection stations will be deemed to have undergone a test at a community testing centre.
Those whose test results are negative will be informed by SMS.
People with a preliminary positive result will be referred to the Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.
