2 department directors named
The Government today announced two senior appointments.
Deputy Director of Architectural Services Winnie Ho will take up the post of Director of Architectural Services on December 18 when serving director Sylvia Lam commences her pre-retirement leave.
Deputy Director of Planning Ivan Chung will become Director of Planning on January 4, 2021, when serving director Raymond Lee commences his pre-retirement leave.
Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip said both incoming directors have proven leadership and management skills, as well as profound professional knowledge and extensive operational experience, adding he is confident they can lead the respective departments to meet the challenges ahead and continue their quality services to the community.
Mr Nip praised Mrs Lam for having led the Architectural Services Department in providing a comprehensive range of professional advice and services to the Government and quasi-government organisations, noting that her use of modular integrated construction technology in the construction of a quarantine camp within a short time was commendable.
He praised Mr Lee for having led the Planning Department in making significant contributions to land supply for housing and other uses and mapping out the strategic planning of Hong Kong.
Mr Nip wished both of them a fulfilling and happy retirement.
