Tung Chung mobile testing set

December 4, 2020

The Government today announced it will arrange for a testing agency to set up a mobile specimen collection station in Tung Chung North Park to provide free COVID-19 nucleic acid testing services from December 6.

The station's operating hours are from 10am to 8pm and it will tentatively operate until December 19.

Meanwhile, the mobile specimen collection station in Kowloon City will extend its services until December 9, while the one in Sai Kung will cease operation after December 5.

The testing agency will provide specimen collection services by combined nasal and throat swabs at the mobile station.

Those who are subject to compulsory testing and undergo testing at mobile specimen collection stations will be deemed to have undergone a test at a community testing centre.

The Social Welfare Department announced earlier that two temporary testing centres dedicated for staff of residential care homes for the elderly, residential care homes for the disabled and nursing homes will be set up at Wong Chuk Hang Recreation Ground No 2 Soccer Pitch and Hennessy Road Playground Basketball Court to make it more convenient for the staff to get tested.

People whose test results are negative will be informed by SMS.

Those with positive results will be referred to the Department of Health's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.

The Government urged all individuals who are in doubt about their own health condition or with exposure to infection risk to undergo testing promptly.
