Services at the Lei Yue Mun community isolation facility were temporarily suspended from today to facilitate upgrade works there, the Hospital Authority announced.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Government converted Lei Yue Mun Park & Holiday Village into a community isolation facility which started accepting patients aged below 50 and without major long-term diseases on July 24.

Speaking at a press briefing this afternoon, the authority’s Chief Manager (Quality & Standards) Dr Lau Ka-hin said that about 240 patients were treated there, of which more than 230 have been discharged.

He said: “We will install more Wi-Fi as well as upgrade the electricity power for further use in the coming future.

“So at this moment, the patients will be transferred to the second-tier isolation wards as well as the AsiaWorld-Expo when they are waiting to be discharged.

“In the coming future, when we need more beds for patients, Lei Yue Mun community isolation facility will be used again.”
