Health dept services adjusted

July 21, 2020

The Department of Health today reminded citizens that some of its non-urgent services have been adjusted or suspended in light of the special work arrangement for government employees to combat COVID-19.

The affected services include Maternal & Child Health Centres, Child Assessment Service, Student Health Service Centres, Woman Health Centres, Elderly Health Centres, Chest Clinics of Tuberculosis & Chest Service, Social Hygiene Clinics as well as telephone and online bookings for HIV testing.

All dental clinics will provide limited dental services for emergencies and pain relief. The Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Clinics will continue to serve hospital inpatients and provide essential oral and maxillofacial surgery support to hospitals.

Families Clinics and the Education & Training Centre in Family Medicine will remain open but non-urgent services will be adjusted or suspended.

To minimise people flow and social contacts, the department advises that family members and friends should avoid accompanying clients to visit clinics and facilities unless essential.
