The ecological conditions of Shing Mun Reservoir were observed to be normal, the Water Supplies Department said today.

The department made the statement in response to media enquiries on the reservoir’s water quality.

It said its staff were deployed to inspect the reservoir, adding the ecological conditions there were observed to be normal.

The zebrafish bio-monitoring system monitoring the quality of raw water supplies from the reservoir to the Tsuen Wan Water Treatment Works detected no abnormality.

Tests on water samples taken today from the reservoir and the treatment works also showed no abnormality, the department added.
