The Chief Executive has appointed Clement Chen as Baptist University Council Chairman, and Lam Tai-fai as Polytechnic University Council Chairman.

They will serve for three years from January 1.

Welcoming the appointments, Acting Secretary for Education Choi Yuk-lin said Mr Chen has ample experience in public services and thorough knowledge in the post-secondary education sector in Hong Kong.

She also said Mr Lam, who has been Polytechnic University Council Deputy Chairman since 2016, has offered wise counsel on the university’s management and strategic development with vision and foresight.

Ms Choi added that she is confident the universities will scale new heights with Mr Chen and Mr Lam at the helm.

She also thanked outgoing Baptist University Council Chairman Cheng Yan-kee and outgoing Polytechnic University Council Chairman Ignatius Chan for their contributions to the two universities’ development.
