Training milestone:

Director of Immigration Tsang Kwok-wai officiates at the Launching Ceremony of Accredited Training Programmes of the Immigration Department.

Director of Immigration Tsang Kwok-wai today officiated at the Launching Ceremony of Accredited Training Programmes of the Immigration Department, marking a milestone in immigration training programmes.

The ceremony was held at the Immigration Service Institute of Training & Development, the first organisation in Hong Kong to provide professional immigration-related programmes.

The institute started preparatory work last year to further enhance the department’s professionalism and promote continuous learning and personal development of immigration service members.

Through tender evaluation, Open University’s Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education was selected to co-organise training programmes for Immigration Assistant grade members.

The programmes were later accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications.

Mr Tsang encouraged graduates to uphold the values of the department by staying vigilant in the face of an ever-changing environment and maintaining the service’s professionalism.
