Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law visited the Working Family & Student Financial Assistance Agency today.

 

He met agency head Esmond Lee and his staff, and learned about the department's work in providing financial assistance to needy families and students in Hong Kong.

 

Mr Law then went to the Counter Service Unit of the Student Finance Office where application forms and supporting documents are handled and vetted.

 

He also toured the Funded Programmes Students Section and said he was pleased about the smooth processing of student financial assistance applications for the 2017-18 academic year.

 

The subsidies were distributed to more than 20,000 full-time tertiary students pursuing publicly funded programmes.

 

He concluded his visit by having tea with staff and encouraged them to continue supporting and servicing those in need.
