Charges at 12 government public car parks will be increased from May 1, the Transport Department announced today.

They are the Kennedy Town, Rumsey Street, Star Ferry, City Hall, Tin Hau, Shau Kei Wan, Aberdeen, Yau Ma Tei, Sheung Fung Street, Kwai Fong, Tsuen Wan car parks, and the Sheung Shui Park-&-Ride Car Park.

In raising the fees, the department said it considered the inflation rate, private car park charges and usage of government car parks.
