The Museum of History will stage an exhibition of precious relics from eight major Chinese port cities to reflect on the contribution of the Maritime Silk Road to the development of the world's civilisations.
Opening tomorrow and running until December 27, the 'Across the Oceans: the Local Connections & Global Dimensions of China's Maritime Silk Road' exhibition explores the vibrant development of China's maritime transport, trade and cultural exchanges throughout different periods.
It will showcase 170 sets of cultural relics from eight major Maritime Silk Road cities - Ningbo, Penglai, Beihai, Yangzhou, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Guangzhou.
It will also display artefacts from Hong Kong to show the role played by the city in the history of the Maritime Silk Road.
The exhibition is jointly presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and the Ningbo Bureau of Culture, Radio & TV, Press & Publication, and co-organised by the Museum of History, the Ningbo Museum and the Art Exhibitions China.
