More than 61,800 students and 151 schools have been affected by class suspensions due to the Occupy Central protests.
Secretary for Education Eddie Ng told legislators today the Education Bureau suspended classes in Wan Chai and Central & Western districts from September 29 to October 4 to ensure student safety.
The move affected 150 schools and 61,500 students.
A primary school in Yau Tsim Mong District also suspended classes on September 29, affecting 320 students.
Mr Ng said the Government has worked with various sectors to minimise the impact of protests, and he called on demonstrators to reopen roads as soon as possible so normal life.
