Classes of all kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools in the Wan Chai and Central & Western districts will be suspended today.
The Education Bureau made the announcement this morning, as the Occupy Central movement has seriously disrupted traffic in Wan Chai and Central & Western districts since yesterday.
Schools should remain open and arrange staff to look after students who might arrive.
Schools in other districts should exercise flexibility when handling students' lateness or absence if they have difficulty getting to class owing to traffic problems.
The bureau also reminds parents to keep their children home and not allow them to participate in any assemblies or activities that might be unlawful.
