Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung today visited a Tsuen Wan elderly centre to encourage active ageing and to urge its members to express their views in the population policy public engagement exercise.
Mr Cheung talked with members and watched a drama performance with them.
He heard how they enjoyed life after retirement by developing their interests and actively participating in community activities.
He encouraged them to continue contributing to society with their knowledge and wealth of experience.
Mr Cheung also watched the short film Stage for the Aged with them. The Steering Committee on Population Policy produced the film, which promotes active ageing and fostering a supportive environment for Hong Kong people to raise children.
