Labour chief to attend APEC meeting

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Women & the Economy Summit in San Francisco, September 15 and 16.
He will attend a reception in which Hong Kong Executive Councillor Marjorie Yang and University of Science & Technology Dean of Science Prof Nancy Ip will be honoured among 42 leading women innovators.
He will speak at the High-Level Policy Dialogue, chaired by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The summit will focus on improving access to capital, access to markets, capacity and skills building, and women's leadership.
Mr Cheung will also visit a food bank and a seniors' centre before returning to Hong Kong September 18.
