Permanent Secretary for Labour & Welfare Paul Tang held the first exchange meeting on labour inspection with Guangdong in Guangzhou today.
The Guangdong delegation was led by Lin Wangping, Deputy Director-General of the Guangdong Department of Human Resources & Social Security.
Both sides agreed to conduct regular reciprocal visits to facilitate exchange of information on labour laws and modes of operation. Training programmes will be arranged to let enforcement officers on both sides learn more about the latest developments in labour inspection.
Communication channels for sharing reference information will also be established.
The two delegations shared their enforcement experience, including how vigilance is maintained to safeguard labour rights. They exchanged views on the mechanism for resolving labour disputes and the operation of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund.
Hong Kong and Guangdong signed a Framework Agreement on Hong Kong-Guangdong Co-operation in Beijing in April, to boost co-operation between the two places.
