Police arrested 13 more people this evening after they repeatedly ignored appeals for them to leave the Central Government Offices’ forecourt, bringing the total number of those detained to 74.
Sixty men and 14 women, aged between 17 and 58, were arrested for forcible entry into government premises and unlawful assembly. A 27-year-old man was also arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
They are being detained for enquiries.
Officers said the public meeting being held on Tim Mei Avenue near the CGO was unlawful, and appealed to people, especially students and underage people, not to take part, or go near the area.
