(September 27, 2014)
Director of Administration Kitty Choi called for protesters to be rational, peaceful and lawful, and urged them to be mindful of their own safety and of those around them.Briefing reporters on the intrusion of the Central Government Offices' forecourt by protesters last night, Ms Choi today said the Government regretted that the incident had happened, leaving 10 security guards, one CGO staff member, five policemen and numerous protesters injured.
She said the Administration Wing supported the Police’s resolute actions to restore order and peace on the premises last night.
Ms Choi added that the Government had provided help to people wanting to hold a meeting there, including opening Tim Mei Avenue for them to gather.
To ensure public safety, she announced that the Administration Wing had decided to withdraw the approval for three organisations to hold activities at the forecourt tomorrow.
