Security at Hong Kong International Airport has been enhanced to ensure better services to the public.
Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung told the Legislative Council today the Aviation Security Company, or AVSECO, received 76 complaints over the past three years.
Thirteen of them were substantiated, involving the performance and attitude of security staff, and the handling of restricted articles.
Mr Cheung said the company has since strengthened staff training, conducted internal tests on security measures, and enhanced co-ordination of security checks by frontline staff.
Police have also launched a project to raise public awareness of security and crime prevention.
Through the project, Police host security workshops to brief the airport community on crime trends, and provide an additional crime reporting hotline.
