Chief Executive CY Leung says former Ming Pao chief editor Kevin Lau’s condition has improved, and Police are conducting a full investigation into the case.
Speaking to the media today, Mr Leung said Mr Lau was doing better after surgery, and said Hospital Authority staff will do their best to facilitate a quick recovery.
He said Mr Lau’s family regretfully declined further visits from Government officials, to allow him to rest. Mr Leung passed along other officials' well wishes to Mr Lau’s family.
A man with a knife brutally attacked Mr Lau in Sai Wan Ho yesterday morning. Police seized a motorcycle suspected to have been involved in the crime last night. They also released a CCTV image of two suspects and questioned people near the crime scene. Anyone with information is urged to call a hotline, 2860 5012.
