Chief Secretary Carrie Lam has expressed shock at the attack on MediaNet Resources Chief Operating Officer Kevin Lau and condemned the violence.
Speaking to the media, Mrs Lam said Hong Kong is a law-abiding society that does not tolerate violence. Police will investigate the case and arrest those responsible for the attack.
Secretary for Security TK Lai told reporters Police attach great importance to all assault cases, and an investigation is underway.
Mr Lai urged witnesses to contact Police.
