Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tsuen Wan today, in which a 44-year-old taxi driver was killed, and two men and three women injured.
At about 6.05am, a 32-year-old man was driving a private car uphill on Wo Yip Hop Road. Near No. 290 Wo Yi Hop Road, he reportedly rammed his car into a van and then a taxi, both of which were travelling in the opposite direction.
The taxi driver, a 45-year-old male taxi passenger, the private car driver and his 24-year-old female passenger were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital with head injuries.
The taxi driver was certified dead at 8.27am. Two other female passengers in the private car, aged 24 and 25, were sent to Yan Chai Hospital.
The private car driver was arrested for failing to provide a breath specimen for screening and dangerous driving causing death. He was released on bail.
