The Hong Kong Housing Authority's Tender Committee has decided to take regulatory action against four building contractors and two related companies which were involved in the construction of 11 public rental estates where excessive lead content was found in fresh water.
The authority will not consider any new works tenders submitted by the six building contractors from March 1 to September 30.
The contractors are China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong), Paul Y. General Contractors, Shui On Building Contractors, Yau Lee Construction Company, China Overseas Building Construction and Paul Y. Construction Company.
The Tender Committee also decided to remove China State, Shui On and Yau Lee from the authority's Premier League of contractors with effect from tomorrow.
