More than 150 awards and certificates were presented to industry practitioners with outstanding performance in the Housing Authority's public housing construction and maintenance projects today, at the 12th Quality Public Housing Construction & Maintenance Awards.
The annual event, jointly organised by the authority and industry associations, commends contractors', supervisors', project teams' and front-line workers' outstanding performances. It also encourages them to enhance work quality by applying innovative technologies and creativity in building and maintenance works.
Forging ahead to meet the housing production target in the coming years would be a huge challenge for the authority's building and housing management teams, Permanent Secretary for Transport & Housing (Housing) Duncan Pescod said at the presentation ceremony.
"While we endeavour to expedite the subsidised housing production, we must not compromise on-site safety. 'Zero incidents' is our ultimate goal," he said.
He also appealed to industry practitioners for their co-operation in adhering to site-safety guidelines and green practices for the workers' protection and environment sustainability.
Information on the awards will be uploaded onto the authority's website.
