Two exhibitions, arts fun days, a photo competition and a carnival are among the events this week to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The "Very Hong Kong Very Hong Kong" exhibition, featuring nearly 200 entries from 11 creative categories, will be held from August 6 to 19 at City Hall, and from August 17 to 29 at Comix Home Base, Wan Chai.
The Ink Global exhibition, showcasing 500 artworks from 15 countries and regions, will be held from August 4 to 8 at the Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Featuring outdoor art workshops, booth games and live performances, the "Bravo! Floral Sensation!" arts fun days will be held on August 6 at the Cultural Centre Piazza and on August 20 at Tai Po Waterfront Park.
Launched by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Family Council, the Happy Moments of Family Snapshot Competition invites participants to take pictures of happy moments with family members of different generations. Entry deadline is September 30.
The "Together We Care - Best Friend of Dementia Community Education Day" is an outdoor carnival featuring games, talks and drama performances. It will be held from 1.30pm to 5pm on August 5 at Belcher Bay Park, Western District.
To mark the 20th anniversary, the Government is collaborating with different sectors to organise more than 900 activities and events under the theme "Together • Progress • Opportunity".
