107 show normal lead levels

September 30, 2015

The latest batch of 107 samples taken from people affected by lead in drinking water have been found to contain normal levels of lead, the Department of Health announced today.

The samples include 87 from kindergarten children and 20 from public estate residents.

The department will perform lead exposure assessments for citizens with borderline lead levels and arrange for preliminary developmental assessments for children aged under 12.

The Hospital Authority will arrange health evaluations for borderline cases aged 12 or above.

People can call hotline 2125 1122 for enquiries and to make blood test appointments.

As at 5pm today, the hotline had received 7,705 enquiries and arranged 5,057 blood tests.
