Director of Home Affairs Pamela Tan spoke with Occupy Central protesters today at Queensway.
She was joined by members of the Central & Western and Wan Chai District Councils.
Mrs Tan said the Government urges protesters to reopen Queensway so daily life can get back to normal for Hong Kong citizens.
She noted that kindergarten classes in Central & Western and Wan Chai districts resumed today, but commuting time was up to six-times longer for some students.
Transport Department Chief Transport Officer (Hong Kong Island) Nelson Chan also went to Queensway. Accompanied by a Police negotiator, he advised protesters to reopen the thoroughfare.
