Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man says the Government has decided not to lift the export restriction on infant powdered formula at this time.
Speaking to the media after attending a radio programme today, he said based on a consultant's findings on a stress test conducted in early October, the Government found the improvement measures suppliers and retailers adopted have not satisfactorily addressed the problem or loopholes in the supply chain.
As the Government does not have full confidence that the problems have been resolved, it will not lift the export restriction at this stage, Dr Ko added.
