H7N9 found in Shenzhen markets

The Centre for Health Protection has been notified by Mainland authorities that three environmental samples collected from two live poultry markets in Longgang in Shenzhen have tested positive for the H7N9 virus.
The centre said it received notification this evening from the Guangdong Health & Family Planning Commission of the positive results, after 70 environmental samples were collected from 13 live poultry markets.
The centre said it will continue to liaise with Mainland health authorities to monitor the latest developments.
