A museum displaying the history of the Mei Ho House public housing block will open on October 21, under the “Hong Kong: Our Home” Campaign.
The museum is located in one of the first six-storey resettlement blocks built in 1954 to resettle squatters who were left homeless after the tragic Shek Kip Mei fire on December 25, 1953.
Four of the original units have been preserved, while public toilets and communal washrooms and corridor cooking areas have been reconstructed. The museum will display 1,200 exhibits, and 166 former residents will serve as guides to share their stories. Click

The Po Leung Kuk Flea Market will set up booths at the Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui on seven Sundays starting October 27 until mid-January, and the Tsuen Wan District Road Safety Carnival will also be held on October 27 at Sha Tsui Road Playground in Tsuen Wan.
These events support the "Hong Kong: Our Home" public participation campaign, which aims to inject positive energy into society, foster social cohesion and promote care, mutual help and solidarity in the community. Click
