September 10, 2013
The Leisure & Cultural Services Department's Mid-Autumn Festival lantern carnivals will be held in Victoria Park, Sha Tin Park and Tuen Mun Park from September 19 to 21, under the "Vibrant Hong Kong" theme of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign.

The carnivals will feature folk songs, dance, instrumental and acrobatic performances by the Sichuan Arts Troupe.

There will also be demonstrations of Sichuan folk craft, such as sugar painting and Qiang embroidery by craft masters, along with demonstrations of Canton decorative porcelain art and Chaozhou Wheat Straw Patchwork.

Victoria Park will see two Hong Kong-designed and Taiwan-crafted giant lantern sculptures of the God of Fortune.

Tuen Mun Park will feature lanterns with the "Hong Kong: Our Home" theme, while Sha Tin Park will have a giant Zoumadeng lantern with a carousel of paper horses, and other glittering lanterns.
