Saudi coronavirus cases reported

Seven additional cases of severe respiratory disease associated with novel coronavirus have been reported to the World Health Organization by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Department of Health announced today.
The cases include five deaths and two patients currently in critical condition. There was no recent travel history or animal contact in any of the cases, and the Saudi Arabian Government will continue to investigate the situation. The Centre for Health Protection will seek more information from the WHO and relevant authorities, and continue its surveillance of the disease.
There are now 24 confirmed cases of severe respiratory disease associated with novel coronavirus worldwide, including 16 deaths.
No human infection with this virus has so far been identified in Hong Kong.
