April 09, 2013
Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man will discuss the H7N9 avian influenza virus at the World Health Summit meeting in Singapore.
Speaking to the media before attending the regional summit today, Dr Ko said the virus is now on the agenda, as regional health ministers are concerned about the situation in Hong Kong.
He said attendees may discuss the latest updates and how to strengthen the World Health Organisation’s role in dealing with the virus, adding he has prepared a document to share with them.
Dr Ko said nine Hong Kong people have tested negative for H7N9 so far, including three previously suspected cases.
He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
