Gov’t to monitor H7 cases in Mainland

April 01, 2013
The Centre for Health Protection said today it will enhance surveillance for suspected H7 cases in Hong Kong after learning of confirmed human cases of H7N9 in the Mainland.

Influenza A (H7) is a statutorily notifiable infectious disease in Hong Kong. The centre will send letters to doctors to inform them of the latest situation and remind them to report any suspected cases.

It will heighten its vigilance and continue to maintain stringent port health measures.

The centre is maintaining close liaison with the Mainland health authorities and will monitor advice from the World Health Organisation.
