Yau Tong Community Hall opens
November 05, 2012
The Yau Tong Community Hall officially opened today, providing a new venue for the public to hold and participate in community activities in Kwun Tong.
Occupying 1,950 square metres, the hall is situated in a residential area and is adjacent to the MTR station and public transport interchanges in the district.
The venue is equipped with a multi-purpose hall with a seating capacity of 450. It has a function room, a conference room, a meeting room, and a dressing room.
Featuring natural lighting, the building also has barrier-free access facilities.
Officiating at the opening ceremony, Director of Home Affairs Pamela Tan said the Government has always placed great importance on encouraging public participation in neighborhood activities, with a view to fostering a spirit of community.
Yau Tong Community Hall, as part of Yau Tong Estate Redevelopment Phase Four, was built by the Housing Department and is managed by the Home Affairs Department. It has been open for public bookings since September.
There are now nine community centres or halls for public use in Kwun Tong District.
