Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing commended Hong Kong athletes for winning two gold, two silver and seven bronze medals at the Guangzhou Asian Para Games today.
He said: “Their astonishing achievements are the definitive summation of their sportsmanship and their indefatigable efforts over the years. They deserve our utter support and respect.”
Wan Hon-yin won the gold in men’s tenpin bowling singles, while wheelchair fencer Yu Chui-yee won the women’s individual epee (Category A).
The silver medals came from the mixed rowing coxed fours (Chan Ka-man, Chan Yuen-wah, Cheng Sze-lung, Kwok Wing, Yiu Ka-lai) and Chung Ting-ching in the men’s wheelchair fencing individual foil.
The bronze medallists were Puk Chi-yeung (men’s rowing single sculls), Cho Ping (women’s rowing single sculls), Lui Hiu-yu and Yau Tak-hing (mixed rowing double sculls), Fan Pui-shan (women’s wheelchair fencing individual epee Category A), Chan Yui-chong (women’s wheelchair fencing individual epee Category B), Chan Wing-kin (men’s wheelchair fencing individual foil Category A) and Hui Charn-hung (men’s wheelchair fencing individual foil Category B).
