The main event of the 2016 FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix was held successfully today, thrilling the sell-out crowd.
Chief Executive CY Leung opened the event, saying the FIA Formula E Championship is a perfect blend of motorsports and entertainment, and hosting the inaugural Hong Kong ePrix will enhance the city’s status as a sporting hub in the region and a premier tourist destination worldwide.
He later presented the trophies on the winners' rostrum.
The two-day event started yesterday at the Central Harbourfront with a pre-race carnival featuring a celebrity race and charity parade.
The action kept charging up today with the Hong Kong ePrix with 20 drivers battling it out for a place on the podium.
Spectators savoured the high-speed action up close, seeing cars racing past the city’s landmarks.
