Financial Secretary John Tsang says the World Bank and International Monetary Fund are concerned about Hong Kong’s economic prospects as they lower the global economic forecast.
Speaking to reporters today, Mr Tsang said he had joined the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group annual meetings as a member of the Chinese delegation while visiting the United States last week.
He also met US officials and business people to discuss the latest economic situation and financial services development.
Speaking on the Occupy Central protests, Mr Tsang said society has become polarised as there are differing opinions, and consideration must be given on how to resolve the situation.
He also stressed that his stance is not in conflict with Chief Executive CY Leung’s stance.
