Financial Secretary John Tsang arrived in Bangkok today for the last leg of his Southeast Asian visit.He updated the Thai business community on Hong Kong's rapidly growing offshore renminbi business, discussing the three pillars of renminbi banking, bonds and trade settlement.
He urged Thai executives to use Hong Kong as a platform to develop their renminbi portfolios.
Mr Tsang then met with Bank of Thailand Governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul.
He later officiated at the gala premiere of the Hong Kong Film Festival 2012, Thailand.
