Gloomy business outlook forecast

About 24% of the senior management of Hong Kong companies expect the business situation to dip in the first quarter of the year, while 15% forecast it will improve.
 
Releasing its Quarterly Business Tendency Survey report today, the Census & Statistics Department said this is the first time an overall pessimistic business outlook has been observed since the third quarter of 2009.
 
Respondents in six of the 10 surveyed sectors have an unfavourable business outlook, particularly the transportation, storage and courier services sector.
 
The construction, and information and communications sectors expect their business situation to improve.
